Michigan State Here I Come, Again!
I am currently taking a series of three courses at Michigan State University which will enable me to teach again! At the end of these classes I will have renewed my Teaching Certificate after 7 years of staying home with my two children. I am so excited to be able to re-enter the job force by the end of May. Now I just have to hope there will be job openings available.
The purpose of this website is for people to see what I am up to as I work on getting my certificate back and to see all the coursework I have produced along the way. Since most of my assignments for these classes have practical applications in elementary school classrooms it is my hope that they might be of use to some of you teachers out there. You will find my projects on my Electronic Portfolio page which you can access in the navigation bar above. You can also read Becky's Blog page to get an idea of the subject matter we are covering throughout my classes and the opinions I have formed over the course of my studies.

Masters of Arts in Educational Technology
The Masters Program for Educational Technology at Michigan State is designed to help me enhance my teaching and improve student learning in a classroom. It is also designed to help me earn graduate credits toward licensure renewal, the new Educational Technology (NP) endorsement, or a masters degree. By training to use authentic work in my future classroom I will also be able to utilitize effective strategies for integrating technology in my curriculum. My New Job
I have recently been hired by the Wexford Missaukee United Way to head up their Born Learning Program. Born Learning was designed to reach out to parents, grandparents, and childcare providers in the area to encourage everyday learning strategies for young children. I am hoping that through my work with the United Way I will be able to make a difference in the lives of community members who are looking for new ways to connect with the young children in their lives.

This is one of the best videos I have seen that explains the importance of Early Childhood Education and Intervention. Please watch it and join the fight to help every young child lead healthy and happy lives.
